Jason Koon At the Head-Up Sit-And-Gos Spotlight Video Poker, Jason Koon has cashed in over $ 30.9 million in live poker tournaments during his career. As a result he now sits in ninth place on poker’s all-time cash list.
Back in 2012, Card Player TV reunited with Koon during the main event of the World Poker Tour Legends of Poker at The Bicycle Hotel & Casino for a video interview. At the time, Koon had not yet climbed onto the super high roller scene he is now a staple and has just $ 2.7 million in straight tournament cash under his belt.
In the video, Koon discusses some of the common mistakes novices make when they first play head-up hold’em sit-and-gos without limits.
“With beginners, they often stay out of position too much. I would recommend making the folds tight out of position and being very aggressive when in position, ”Koon offered as a starting point.
“Also, very selective about what ranges you decide to raise your opponent back up. I feel that beginners often get into trouble because they don’t have a polarized three-bet range, ”Koon continued. “So they’ll bet three hands like jack ace, get four bets, and don’t know what to do with it. So make sure that whenever you raise someone,
You know if you’re bluffing or if you’re doing it for value and are comfortable playing for the pile. “
