The Poker Pro With $ 30.9 Million In Career Income Shares Strategy Advice

Jason Koon At the Head-Up Sit-And-Gos Spotlight Video Poker, Jason Koon has cashed in over $ 30.9 million in live poker tournaments during his career. As a result he now sits in ninth place on poker’s all-time cash list.

Back in 2012, Card Player TV reunited with Koon during the main event of the World Poker Tour Legends of Poker at The Bicycle Hotel & Casino for a video interview. At the time, Koon had not yet climbed onto the super high roller scene he is now a staple and has just $ 2.7 million in straight tournament cash under his belt.

In the video, Koon discusses some of the common mistakes novices make when they first play head-up hold’em sit-and-gos without limits.

“With beginners, they often stay out of position too much. I would recommend making the folds tight out of position and being very aggressive when in position, ”Koon offered as a starting point.

“Also, very selective about what ranges you decide to raise your opponent back up. I feel that beginners often get into trouble because they don’t have a polarized three-bet range, ”Koon continued. “So they’ll bet three hands like jack ace, get four bets, and don’t know what to do with it.
